Delicious, mouth-watering fried chicken and sweet, ambrosial craft beer – a match made in heaven.

That’s right folks, yet another brand new independent is opening up in Birmingham (what a glorious time to live and work in the city, are we right?). With scores of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and retailers opening up in Birmingham, recently it seems that almost every week there’s a brilliant new addition to our city. We love it. We love championing these amazing independents and shining a light on them, and their story, so as to encourage you to get out there and rediscover your city, one hidden gem at a time.

Coming soon to Birmingham is BoneHead.

We don’t know too much about BoneHead at the moment, other that it’s going to be a dive bar specialising in the wonderful ambrosial nectar that is craft beer, and of course, fried chicken. The menu is being designed by Lap Fai Lee and we’re anticipating it’s going to be pretty unreal (free range deep-fried chicken wings and glorious burgers are sure to feature). Mouth-watering chicken, delicious beer, and good vibes – BoneHead sounds like it’s going to be THE perfect addition to John Bright Street (which is already home to a number of great independents).

We hope you’re as excited by this news as we are!

So, who’d love to see them join the Independent Birmingham Membership Card? There are now over 100 of the very best independent cafes, bars, restaurants, theatres, pubs, cinemas and shops offering amazing year-long discounts and deals to over 18,000 IBcard holders – but, as the saying goes, the more the merrier! And this is certainly set to be a brilliant addition to Birmingham’s already scintillating independent scene.

Either way, be sure to keep a look out on the Independent Birmingham website and social media pages for more information – and definitely, definitely visit when it opens.

For now, follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to find out when they’ll be opening. We’ll be the ones first in line queuing up outside.
