So, we’re always on the hunt for the very best brunch spots across the city, and we’ve found a new favourite.
Introducing The Den.
Located on Pershore Road, Stirchley, The Den is a gorgeous neighbourhood coffee shop and bar.
Open from 9am until 11pm, The Den is an all-day hangout where you can enjoy some of the very best brunch in Brum, along with coffee and tea, and then stay into the evening for cocktails, beers, natural wine and a little competitive fun over a game or two of interactive darts. You might consider this your local independent cafe and bar where they have something for everyone.
Our favourite foods over at IB are breakfast foods – in fact, we go to bed every night thinking about the next morning’s breakfast (not even joking). It is the most important meal of the day, after all. So we love a good brunch cafe, and ever since they opened, The Den have been amassing loyal followers who can’t get enough of their mouth-watering brunch dishes.
So what’s on the menu you ask? Well, whether you have a sweet tooth or prefer something savoury, they have a dish for you. From classics like a Full English, a fully loaded breakfast bap, or eggs on toast, to big stacks of American Pancakes (with bacon and maple syrup or berry compote and yoghurt) or home-baked banana bread with passion fruit, burnt banana, fermented banana caramel, pecan crumb and edible flowers, there’s something incredibly delicious for everyone. They often have specials too, so keep your eyes peeled for any seasonal or one-off menu items when you visit. All of the food is absolutely delicious, prepared to order, using fresh, quality ingredients, prepared with care by the chefs.
It isn’t just brunch you can enjoy at The Den, you can also get a range of quality drinks. They’ve put just as much care and thought into their drinks menu as the food, and it shows. From delicious speciality coffees and teas to soft drinks and brunch cocktails during the day, alongside a selection of other cocktails as well as a curated list of natural wines, spirits and (of course) plenty of beers. So whether you’re popping in for a mid-morning cuppa or a late night pint, there’s something for all occasions.
As well as the delicious food and great drinks, you can also enjoy interactive darts at The Den. We love an activity to enjoy while we have a drink or two, and this is a great way of having a little competitive fun with mates to up your evening plans. The darts system does all the adding up for you, so no arguing over the score keeping, just a whole load of fun.
The interior is cosy and welcoming, with wooden tables, plush benches and an inviting colour palette of forest green and mustard yellow, along with hanging greenery, potted plants and chic pendant lights giving a more luxe feel to the space. A comfortable and relaxing place to enjoy brunch and a coffee. Outdoors, they have a lovely little courtyard garden with wooden tables and plenty of space to enjoy the warm weather when you’re able to. The space is very child-friendly too with a kids menu and a bookcase of games to keep little ones (or big ones) occupied while you wait. And you can bring your furry friends along too, as well-behaved dogs are welcome.
