Is there anything greater in life than an epic pizza? We think not. That’s why we’re always on the hunt for the best pizza spots in town. We think we may have found a contender for the best…
Introducing Corner Shop.

Located at Kilder on Shaw’s Passage, Digbeth, Corner Shop is the place to go for all your Detroit-style pizza needs.
Pizzas come in many forms, and not all pizzas are created equal. Whether you prefer a thin and crispy base, a big puffy crust and soupy middle, or a big, fat, deep pan style, there’s one thing we can all agree on: pizza is elite. We can’t get enough of the stuff in all shapes and sizes, and every possible topping imaginable. We want it all!

If you’re anything like us, then a trip to Corner Shop is an absolute must. Over in Digbeth, they’re slinging out some of the very best slices around, and in a form you don’t see too often in Brum – the deep pan Detroit-style. Whilst the Italian style pizzas are super tasty, there’s something about the Detroit-style goodness that really just hits the spot (and it’s perfect with a pint or two from Kilder).

The guys over at Corner Shop have perfected their recipes to ensure that each and every one of their pizzas has that gorgeously thick, fluffy base, and then they use the best ingredients for their toppings to make sure that every bite is pure heaven. But one of the things we like the most about this pizza concept is that depending on how hungry you are, you can order a whole pie, or you can just order a slice or two. Great for people with differing hunger levels, but also a great way to order several different slices and try more flavours in one visit! So no need to decide on just one topping choice. Genius.

So what flavours can you get? Great question. You can opt for a classic flavour such as their aptly named ‘Classic’ which is essentially like a Margherita, or the Pepperoni (no explanation needed) and you know you’re ordering a crowd-pleasing favourite. Alternatively, you can go for one of their special flavours (which do change from time to time so keep your eyes peeled for new flavours and specials popping up) such as Cheeseburger Pizza (think OPM burger flavours on a pizza), Buffalo Chicken (with a cheese base, shredded buffalo chicken, blue cheese sauce and chives), Veggie Supreme, or N’duja with 3 cheese, dill ranch, fresh dill and pickled chilli.

Whilst the pizzas are the star of the show, it would be negligent of us not to mention the equally delicious sides. With the likes of their hot and spicy potatoes or deep fried mozzarella sticks on the menu, you’ll want to add some of their mouth-watering sides to your order too. Don’t forget to order some of their tasty dips too (perfect for dipping your slices into for an extra hot of flavour).

Nestled inside Kilder, this pizza mecca is a must-visit for any foodie, and to accompany your slices and sides, there’s of course the full drinks menu courtesy of Kilder. Settle in with a cold beer and a slice or two, and it sounds like the makings of a grand old time to us.

So if, likes us, you’re always on the hunt for your next pizza hit and you’re on a mission to track down the very best slice in Brum, you absolutely must head over to Corner Shop. Their pizzas are nothing short of life changing.
