As this strange new reality hits us all, we know that so many of you want to continue supporting the amazing businesses who have established themselves in the fabric of this city and in all of our hearts.

No one wants to see these businesses forced to close, and if we all work together, hopefully we can prevent that from happening to as many of them as possible.

Many of the city’s independent restaurants, bars, pubs, coffee shops, shops, and services are trying to navigate this dreadful situation, and for many of them this means adapting their offering. Whilst some of them were already set up on delivery platforms, lots of them were previously unable to. In the face of the unsettling months to come, lots of our favourite indies are changing their offering to help keep their businesses alive.

We’ve rounded up as many as possible in a handy list for you. Use this as your go-to guide for who to order your self isolation meals from (if you’re able to, of course), and some fun treats to make social distancing that little bit easier. It goes without saying, but if we don’t support these businesses now, when they need us the most, they won’t be here when the dust settles. Use them, or lose them.

Please note: Whilst we have taken every effort to include as many businesses who have had to adapt their offering as possible in this list, it is likely to change rapidly as businesses attempt to adapt to the situation. Please use this as a guide (which we will attempt to update as regularly as possible), but also check your favourite businesses individually if you can’t find them on this list.

Independent Birmingham is a valuable platform for celebrating and shining a light on Birmingham’s marvellous independent scene. However, we too are a small, independent business facing uncertainty at this testing time. Help keep IB alive and download the Independent Birmingham App (and sign up as a member) here – a number of independents on the IB App have temporarily closed, so instead of using the amazing discounts/deals on there think of it as a subscription to help keep your favourite local platform alive.
